만남과 운명 : 유근직의 학문적 공헌과 실천적 기여
한 사람의 삶은 많은 우연과 필연과의 만남으로 점철된 운명으로 이뤄진 다. 1970년대 같은 시공간 속에서 한 사람은 가수의 꿈을 키웠고 다른 한 사 람은 학자의 꿈을 키웠다. 유근직과 체육의 만남, 체육사와의 만남은 우연을 가장한 필연의 결과이다. 그것은 하나의 운명이라고 할 수 있다. 유근직은 강원대학교 체육교육과에 입학을 하여 체육인의 삶을 시작한 것도 운명이요 체육사학자가 된 것도 운명이다. 국립 사범대학을 졸업하여 모두 체육교사가 된 시절 그 역시 체육교사가 되었고 국비 유학시험을 봐서 일본유학생이 된 것도 어떻게 보면 하나의 운명이라고 할 수 있다. 그가 남기고 간 것들은 여 러 가지가 있겠지만 체육사학자로서의 삶과 현장의 경기인의 삶에서 그의 학문적 업적과 실천적 기여를 찾아 볼 수 있었다. 대한민국 컬링역사의 한 페이지를 작성하고, 국내 최초의 컬링에 관한 전문서적을 출판하였다. 체육 사 연구에 대한 학문적 발자취는 영원히 후배들에게 귀감이 되고 있다. 이론 과 실천을 잘 하는 것은 쉽지 않은 일임에도 불구하고 훌륭한 업적을 이뤄 낸 고인의 삶은 실로 위대하다고 할 수 있다. 비록 짧은 삶을 살다가 영면하 였지만 그가 남긴 학문적 열정과 업적 그리고 동계스포츠 컬링에 대한 기여 는 영원히 남아서 그 빛을 발할 것이다.
Meeting and Fate : Academic Achievement and Practical Contribution of Yu, Geunjik
The purpose of this study was life story of Yu geunjik who lived sport professor and curling coach. In order to investigate life story of Yu, geunjik. I used Literatures and his publications, and his individual blog(http://blog,daum.net/sportstory). Life is achieved in a number of chance and necessity and meetings. In the same space and time in the 1970s, one person had a dream of a singer, the other person had a scholar’s dream. It is inevitable result of chance that Yu Geunjik had a meeting with sport and a meeting with sport history. He is destined to be the entry into physical education of Kangwon National University, Sports historians began the destination. He was a physical education teacher and a Japanese Government Scholarship students. All of this was a fate. He write curling history of the Republic of Korea, and was published in the professional literature on the nation’s first curling. Academic footsteps of the colonial Elementary School Physical Education has become an inspiration to the younger forever. Theory and practice, It is not easy to well in all areas. It can be said to be truly great achievement which accomplished in theory and achieved in practice. Although he lived a short life, He will forever remain enthusiastic about leaving academic and academic achievements and winter sports curling contribution.
